About the Foundation
A Florida nonprofit honoring those who died serving their communities.
Our story
The Foundation takes its name from the badge number of Broward Sheriff's Office Sergeant Chris Reyka, killed in the line of duty in 2007. In his memory, law enforcement members began an annual statewide ride to honor every Florida officer lost the previous year.
The Foundation serves the families of Florida law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty, along with the agencies and co-workers who served beside them. The Foundation is an independent nonprofit corporation, not a government agency or part of any law enforcement agency. It was incorporated as a Florida not-for-profit corporation in November 2014, and the IRS recognized its tax-exempt status in January 2015. See our public records.
